Peter Changilwa
Director of Curriculumn Development

Dr. Peter Changilwa Kigwilu is an experienced educator, life skills trainer and researcher. He holds a PhD in Curriculum Studies and Instruction. He currently serves as Curriculum Developer and Accreditation Liaison Officer at United States International University - Africa. Besides, he has served as a team leader in a number of projects in the education and development space and consulted widely in curriculum development, quality assurance, and monitoring and evaluation of educational programs with the Commission for University Education (Kenya) and the Namibian Commission for Higher Education (Namibia). Dr. Kigwilu is the founding director of the Center for Life Skills Education, a local NGO that promotes life skills in vocational institutions in Kenya. He previously served and the project coordinator for the Life Skills Education program at Marist International University College Nairobi for the period 2010 to 2013. He is an accomplished scholar with a good profile of research publications in the fields of Life Skills Education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, curriculum studies and child development education.

Dr. Charity Waithama
Consultant Psychologist and Trainer

Dr. Charity Wangui Waithima holds a PhD. in Clinical Psychology, M. A. Counseling Psychology from Daystar University and Bachelor of Education (BEd. Science) from Kenyatta University. She is a Mental Health consultant and an educator with broad counseling, teaching, psychological assessment and administration experience. She is currently an assistant professor of Psychology at the United States International University- Africa (USIU-A) and the coordinator for Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology Program. She is the lead psychotherapy consultant at the Lifespring wellness services center which offers Psychological Assessment and therapy for Adolescents, Adults and family Therapy. She also trains in Life skills development and enhancement for drug use prevention and mitigation in adolescents.

Dr. Waithima is the mental health consultant for Education For All Children (EFAC) Kenya chapter- An international foundation that sponsors bright and disadvantaged children to gain quality education and foster leadership. She is also a consultant in conflict and behavior management in Schools. She serves as a certified professional mediator attached to the family division of the Kenya judiciary. She has published articles in refereed journals, published a book on adolescent substance use prevention and co-published book chapters on family conflict leading to divorce and one on mental wellness during the Covid 19 pandemic. She has also contributed to manuals on HIV and Aids Counseling with the current one on messaging by religious leaders on how to prevent and protect communities from the corona virus infection published by the Ministry of Health and the National Aids Control Council (NACC), Kenya.

Dr. Waithima has also been involved in Psychological training and therapy at various levels with groups and individuals for over 15 years. She is actively involved in community service offering psychosocial support to institutions and organizations which intensified with the covid 19 pandemic from March 2020. She was among the psychologists who were called upon by institutions of learning and other organizations to offer training and psychosocial support to communities during the covid 19 pandemic. She is constantly consulted and featured as a mental health expert on various local and international media outlets via TV, radio and print media. She is a member of World Council for Psychotherapy, Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association and the Kenya Psychological Association.

Dr. Waithima is one of the Bonga (say or let’s talk) telepsychology digital platform counselors hosted by the Capital FM, Kenya in collaboration with USIU-Africa Psychology department. She is also a board member for CATCH Global Foundation that uses physical training to improve health and wellness of school going children globally.

Elvis Kwaka Osongo
Program Lead (Learning through Fun)

I'm called Tr. Eko which is an acronym of my full names Elvis Kwaka Osongo. I'm passionate teacher who finds satisfaction in relaying knowledge to children. I'm talented in poetry, skits, children's games and fitness activities. Training kids usefulness in this world and for fitness in the better world to come is my most cherished role. I am a graduate in Bsc Business Innovation Technology Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. I'm an all rounded children's teacher able to work with children of all ages.

Noel Khayanje
Director of Trainings

As a Director of training and content management,Ms. Noel, who is a counseling psychologist, trained teacher and trainer of trainers (ToT) has over 10 years’ experience leading life skills and psycho social health programs. She has designed and led such vibrant programs in high schools, universities, communities and churches. Having worked predominantly with teenagers (first as a high school teacher) in schools and out-of-school, and young people in colleges, universities and in different communities; Noel always has the youth at heart. All the curricular, content, marketing material and communication fliers she has designed in her career life have a message for one group of people: teenagers and youth.

Noel has also been proactive in training teens and youth in all the life skills areas; as well as student leaders, peer educators and counselors and youth leaders in communities. She is proud to have formed a community of young people she mentors and supervises.

Her vision for 'My Child My Friend' is simple; that parents and all working with teens and pre-teens repossess the power and self-efficacy to steer this group to greater physical, emotional, social, spiritual and psychological heights.

Esther Wereh
Program Coordinator

Esther is a meticulous lady who oversees the administration and program coordination at MCMF. With 5 years experience in Project Management, Esther has a talent for ensuring that things run smoothly. She holds a Masters of Arts in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, She holds a Bachelors in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University.

Mediatrix Musungu
Psychological Counselor

Mediatrix Musungu is a trained teacher, psychological counselor, Trainer of Counselors, Trainer of Trainers, Adherence Counselor (HIV) and an Assessor and Accreditor of Level Six Colleges. She holds a Diploma in Education from Kisii College and has 30 years’ experience in the teaching profession interacting with adolescents, the youth and parents/guardians from diverse backgrounds. She also holds a Higher Diploma in Psychological Counseling from Kenya Institute of Professional Counselling and she is a registered member of Kenya Counsellors and Psychologists Association (KCPA) and alumnae of East Africa Human Rights Program 2021 (EAHRP 2021) Mediatrix is the founder of Ego Reflection (ER), a community-based organization that seeks to front the voices of women in all spheres, to foster gender justice and freedom from discrimination for all. ER seeks to create meaningful change that aims at inspiring socioeconomic independence of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYM) in Kisumu County. Presently Mediatrix works closely with schools, communities and organizations in the western region as a trainer in mentorship programs, capacity building on life skills, and awareness and sensitization programs with focus on mental wellness for behavior change. Mediatrix envisions a society that is mentally well and free from gender injustices
